Once a year, the Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon, also known as GLAMhack, brings together data providers, software developers, digital humanists, artists, Wikimedians, Wikipedians and other interested people to experiment with unique cultural data. The participants also investigate how this cultural data could be used for research purposes, for web and mobile apps, in the context of Wikipedia, for artistic applications or for other forms of reuse.

In the warm-up session that is taking place on 3 March 2021 from 5.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m., you will gain insights into the background of GLAMhack, into the projects and results of previous editions of the event and into current data sets. You will also have the chance to discuss initial project ideas for the upcoming hackathon in April with experienced GLAMhackers in a relaxed atmosphere and ask them any questions you may have.

Hackathon veterans, culture vultures, tech nerds, artists, students, professionals or just anyone who wants to check it out – this hackathon is all about diversity, and we can’t wait to see you there!

The GLAMhack 2021 will run from 16 to 17 April 2021 as a virtual event, hosted by the ETH Library. This will be the seventh Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon.
