Tracking bike rides to optimise cycle paths

ETH Zurich is taking part in the Academic Bicycle Challenge for the first time this year. Until 31 May at the latest, bike rides can be tracked via the Naviki app. The collected data will help to better plan future bicycle routes.

Anonymised route data show where people ride

In addition to the kilometres for the university competition, the app tracking also provides valuable insights into the routes travelled and the frequency of their use. These anonymised records form a helpful and necessary database for the ETH Zurich mobility team to improve existing cycle paths and to be able to optimally plan future ones. A good reason to pedal hard until 31 May - or not?

Download the app to join in

Personal data protection is guaranteed with this GPS tracking. Simply download the Naviki app, register and collect valuable kilometre data for ETH in the coming days.

You can find all the necessary information and the instructions for downloading the app on our Academic Bicycle Challenge website.
