Anyone who has ever had to make a procurement at ETH Zurich may be familiar with this situation: keeping track of all the principles, guidelines and requirements relating to the procurement process is sometimes not so easy. As a public contracting authority, ETH is subject to the Swiss Federal Law on Public Procurement (BöB/VöB) and must adhere to the principles of sustainability, cost-effectiveness, quality, equal treatment, transparency and competition. It is not surprising that questions and uncertainties may arise.
Procurement support
The IT Procurement and Compliance Group offers assistance with the procurement of IT goods such as hardware and software, IT services and cloud services. In addition to its general consulting activities, the group will soon be organising free online training courses. These are aimed at ETH members who need to procure IT resources or want to gain a general insight into IT procurement at ETH.
The following courses are now available for registration:
- Procurement of IT services (Tuesday, 14.05.2024; 09:00 - 09:30 a.m.)
- Procurement of cloud services (Tuesday, 14.05.2024; 4:30 – 5:00 p.m.)
- Evaluation in WTO tenders (Wednesday, 15.05.2024; 09:00 - 09:30 a.m.)
All courses will be held online and in German. If required, group courses and courses on other IT procurement topics can also be offered in German and English.
