No e-mail reception, no access to the server, no VPN connection: severe network problems caused massive restrictions in ETH Zurich's IT system from late morning until lunchtime today. The causes are currently being investigated. According to Rui Brandao, Director of IT Services, a technical problem is probably the cause of the disruption. A cyber attack can be ruled out.
The network is now stable again. However, it may take a few more hours before all IT services are fully functional again.
