Martin Lendi was Professor at the ETH Zurich from 1969 to 1998. He became Full Professor of Jurisprudence in 1976. He retired in October 1998.
Prof. Lendi was born on September 23, 1933 and is from Tamins GR and Küsnacht ZH. He studied jurisprudence in Zurich, earned his doctorate in 1958 and passed his bar examination in 1960. He was the secretary general of the department of public constructions in the canton of St. Gallen from 1961 to 1969. Among other positions he was a member of the board of directors and head of the ORL Institute; head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences; chairman of the Department of Law and Economics as well as a member of the Lecturer and Planning Commission. Beginning in 1987 he hold an independent professorship of jurisprudence. His research priorities included aspects of regional planning, traffic law and environmental law. Larger research projects encompassed regional planning strategy, policy planning, paragovernmental administration, traffic law and the teaching of regional planning.
