For this year’s International Archives Week (7 to 11 June 2022), the archives of ETH Zurich are opening their doors to the public. It is an opportunity to learn about their work and their offers and get involved.

For the duration of the Archives Week, ETH Zurich will be offering a varied programme full of insights, stories and campaigns. Immerse yourself in the exciting, diverse world of archives and explore sources of knowledge that educate current and future generations.

- Tuesday, 7 June 2022, 6.15 p.m.: Eastern Europe at the ETH Zurich Archives (guided tour of the ETH Zurich University Archives)
- Wednesday, 8 June 2022, 6.15 p.m.: Why Utopia? (panel discussion on the current exhibition of the Max Frisch Archive)
- Thursday, 9 June 2022, 6 p.m.: Archiving absence (guided tour and panel discussion at the gta Archive)
- Friday, 10 June 2022, 5 p.m.: “Screen test” – the stories told by corporate films (quiz and film screening at the Archive of Contemporary History)
- Saturday, 11 June 2022, 10 p.m.: Wiki Editathon – ETH Zurich Portraits (workshop at the Image Archive of the ETH Library)
- Saturday, 11 June 2022, from 10 a.m.: Archive Open Day at the Archive of Contemporary History

A journey of discovery – a walk through the history of the ETH Zurich Archives
From 7 to 19 June 2022, you can visit the historic rooms of ETH Zurich independently using the Download site map (PDF, 1.8 MB) available on campus. Alternatively, join one of our guides during a guided tour between 7 and 11 June 2022 and experience up close some of the history contained in the ETH Zurich Archives on a tour in and around the main building.

This year’s Archives Week coincides with the external page 100-year anniversary of the Association of Swiss Archivists (VSA) in 2022. In its anniversary year, archives across Switzerland are opening their doors to the public within and outside their institutions and organising events for an entire week.
