New feature for the Research Collection: publication of large datasets

Do you want to publish your research data and program code in a FAIR repository in accordance with the Download Guidelines for Research Data Management (RDM Guidelines, RSETHZ 414.2), (PDF, 229 KB) but your data packages are larger than 50 GB?

The libdrive service enables the open-access publication of large amounts of data via the Research Collection repository. The new feature was developed in collaboration with the IT Services department at ETH Zurich based on ownCloud open-source software.

Each record published using libdrive receives a landing page, plus Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and metadata in the Research Collection, via which the data can be made available for download. All data are saved in the technical infrastructure of ETH Zurich.

Good to know: if you would like to obtain a DOI for your publication or record prior to its actual publication in the Research Collection (e.g. to integrate it into a document), you can request a DOI reservation.

Interested persons will be able to access the published research data in libdrive for at least ten years. There are currently no limits on the volume of data that can be published using libdrive. Therefore, please feel free to take up this offer. The conditions of use and tutorial on how to upload data to libdrive can be found in the Research Collection Manual.
